There was considerable frustration in the room that the moderators hadn’t been able to more forcefully urge the leaders to answer the questions so that they wouldn’t be able just to trot out their heavily practised one-liners. We all seemed to like the idea of moderators being able to ask follow-up questions and hold the politicians’ feet to the fire.
